Thomas Waeselynck takes the helm of the Building Solutions business line

Accelerating the marketing and deployment of BMS solutions

Representing 17% of France’s final energy consumption, the public and private tertiary sector, including offices, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions, must reduce its energy use by 40% by 2030 and 60% by 2050 to comply with the Tertiary Sector Decree. The BACS Decree introduces a new requirement mandating the installation of a Building Management System (BMS) in all commercial buildings where heating or air-conditioning systems have a rated output exceeding 290 kW by January 2025, with the threshold descending to 70 kW by January 2027. E’nergys has recently promoted Thomas Waeselynck to Director of the Building Solutions business line, with the goal of making BMS more accessible and widely adopted; a growing necessity in both new and existing commercial buildings. Reporting to Martin Villemot, Director of Operations of the E’nergys Group, Thomas Waeselynck is tasked with accelerating the marketing and deployment of E’nergys’ turnkey BMS solutions, including lighting, HVAC, and domestic hot water (DHW), to help commercial buildings reduce energy consumption and lower their carbon footprint in compliance with the objectives of the Tertiary Sector Decree.

In his new role, Thomas is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Building Solutions business line, overseeing everything from resource coordination to project execution, all in alignment with E’nergys’ operational and strategic objectives. His mission is to drive the growth of E’nergys’ turnkey BMS solutions, offering businesses, from SMEs to mid-sized enterprises, a single nation-wide point of contact to streamline and implement their energy efficiency projects in commercial buildings, minimizing risks and saving time. Its priority projects for 2025 are: enhancing its operational efficiency, developing the electricity business line following the acquisition of SECCA, and harnessing the power of AI in energy management as part of the partnership with BrainBox AI.

We have what it takes to become a French leader in BMS for commercial buildings by 2030, with a nation-wide presence, cutting-edge business expertise and innovative “intelligent” control solutions, including AI. As electrification of commercial buildings becomes an essential requirement, we are exploring ways to build intelligence into the power grid to optimize management during periods of strain. Solutions such as Smart Grids and Microgrids are being considered, with plans to bring them to market by 2027.
