What is BEQ?

Building Environmental Quality (BEQ) refers to a building’s capacity to minimize its impact on the external environment while providing a comfortable and healthy indoor environment for its occupants. This approach seeks to enhance the environmental and health performance of buildings across their entire lifecycle, from design to demolition.

Successfully implementing BEQ requires close collaboration among all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams. Each phase of the project, from planning through to post-construction management, must be meticulously coordinated to ensure that environmental goals are achieved. This includes careful choice of materials, energy-optimized design, and rigorous monitoring of performance over time.

The benefits of BEQ

Reduced environmental impact
By opting for low-impact materials and optimizing construction processes to minimize waste.
Improved comfort and health
By optimizing the use of natural light, enhancing indoor air quality, and providing high-performance acoustic insulation.
Long-term savings
As a result of improved energy efficiency and lower operating costs, especially in areas such as heating, air conditioning, and maintenance.
