The City of Saint-Nazaire has embarked on an ambitious path to improve the environmental performance of its public buildings and reduce energy consumption. To achieve its goals, it has enlisted E’nergys to renovate the Jules Simon and Jean Jaurès schools.

Committed to reducing its energy consumption by over 25% between 2015 and 2030, the City of Saint-Nazaire has made energy renovation a cornerstone of its urban policy.
Driven by the Tertiary Decree, the municipality is investing in the modernization of its public buildings to combine energy efficiency, user comfort, and environmental excellence.
Two flagship projects embody this approach:
the renovation of Jules Simon School,
and the transformation of the city’s largest school complex, Jean Jaurès.
The City of Saint-Nazaire called upon E’nergys to:
E’nergys is supporting the design and construction of a new school canteen at Jules Simon School, built with a timber frame and bio-based materials. The project also includes:
Greening of the schoolyard to reduce the heat island effect,
Rainwater recovery systems for use by the city’s gardeners,
Installation of a photovoltaic power plant on the kindergarten roof.
At Jean Jaurès School, the project involves the renovation of 8 buildings and the redevelopment of 10,000 m² of playgrounds, including soil dewatering and greening. It also includes the creation of open galleries replacing the old covered areas, as well as rainwater tanks and solar panels.
